November: Coding & Robotics After-School STEAM Academy

Strengthen your student’s skills for complex problem-solving by enrolling them in Coding and Robotics! Kids who code also learn persistence and enhance their overall digital literacy. In this month's After-School STEAM Academy, students will be exposed to different types of code, including text-based and block-based, and how they are used. Each student will have access to a computer at Kidzeum and will have the opportunity to write their own block-based code using Unruly Splats. Unruly Splats are programmable, stomp-able floor buttons. Students code the rules that make them light up and make sounds—the first step toward creating fun games like Whack-a-mole, relay races, and Jeopardy.

The 2024-2025 After-School STEAM Academy meets Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, and Wednesday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, when District 186 is in session. This program is recommended for students in grades 1-5.

A minimum enrollment is required to run each monthly session. Sessions with low enrollment prior to the start date may be subject to cancellation. Any registrations that are canceled due to low enrollment will be refunded in full.

Please note that eight-session packs do not carry from month to month and must be used before the end of the month. No partial refunds will be offered.
